Hi, I don't get out much in Santiago because I'm not from here (I am from Los Angeles) and usually times that I tread at a place that is not my house, a relative's or friend's home or the university is because I must make some process (studying, going to the doctor, dentist, supermarket, or pharmacy). And this places are really close to first two. (-_-). In addition, the other places I visited is for very energetic people (not is my case). Therefore, I can't recommend some place to pass the time.
To move around these places, I usually walk. I like to listen to music while I stroll calmly. But for long distances I normally take a bus from the house to subway, and then I walk a little further. So, I use the most fast public transport and ready!
Maybe reading more people's post will encourage me to explore new places of the city. \(^u^)/
